Assistant General Counsel

Job Description We are looking for an assistant general counsel to support Pluralsight's People Team and to provide counsel on a broad range of employment-related matters, including the following: Recognize and address potential risks and legal issues while providing consultative advice and practical solutions to Pluralsight on a broad and varied array of HR and employment law issues, such as: performance management, performance documentation, discipline, termination, legal compliance, layoffs, employment agreements, waiver and release agreements, non-compete agreements, confidentiality agreements, etc. Handle legal matters and projects ranging from basic to complex, including, but not limited to, worker compensation, termination of employment, harassment, workplace safety, employee classification and overtime issues, and privacy rights Advise on employee benefits issues Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations Coordinate with outside counsel with regard to foreign employment laws and regulations As necessary, evaluate, analyze, and respond to employment-related claims Coordinate employment-related training for management and for a global team Review and maintain employee handbooks This position will also support the legal team, as available and as needed, in other substantive areas. Basic Qualifications: A minimum of 5 - 7 years of substantive employment law experience witha corporate legal department or a nationally recognized law firm Juris Doctor from ABA-accredited law school and current membership in good standing in at least one state bar Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills within and across departments and externally; must be proactive in providing counsel to clients. Sound judgment; ability to clearly make reasoned recommendations; ability to cross think and determine who should be kept informed. Self-starter with good business sense and a sense of urgency, honesty and fairness. Good team player, calm under pressure. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
