POSITION: Events Assistant
Part-time up to 19 hours/week
DEPARTMENT: Legacy Events Center
SALARY: $14.43 - $18.33/Hour (Salary negotiable depending on qualifications/experience)

JOB SUMMARY: Under direct supervision of the department director or an events coordinator, assists in planning, organizing, implementing, and staffing events; performs event planning, marketing and support activities.
(Any one position does not include all of the duties listed; nor do the listed examples include all duties which may be found in positions of this class). Coordinates with groups associated with the Legacy Events Center to assist with planning and execution of events. Responds to event organizersâ  requests. Assists with coordination related to maintenance, set-up, take-down and security, to ensure cooperation and effective communication regarding logistical needs of events. Serves as Legacy Events Center liaison; communicates with event organizers, service providers, sponsors, vendors, rental companies, etc. Assists with developing marketing strategies, including social media, to promote events, activities, and programs; prepares and disseminates promotional materials. Assists with maintaining the Legacy Events Center website; creates social media pages and posts. Provides assistance with planning and executing the Davis County Fair; creates activities and displays for the kidsâ  tent; answers the telephone and responds to general questions during the fair. Operates a motor vehicle in a safe manner and in compliance with all Utah laws and regulations. Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation or equivalent, plus at least one (1) year of experience in event planning, marketing, or customer service. Related education may be substituted for experience. Preference for marketing (including social media) or public relations experience.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a valid driver license. New employees with an out-of-state license must obtain a valid Utah Driver License within sixty (60) days of hire date (exceptions for military personnel and their dependents). Employees driving a personal vehicle while on county business must maintain the minimum vehicle liability insurance as specified in the Utah Code.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
